It would be excellent option for those who have already been the country’s main sites and are looking for something a bit different. The journey takes you to rarely visited two different races states (Mon and Kayin states) and you will have a good opportunity to see the diverse cultures. The journey consists of visiting the holiest Golden Rock Pagoda (Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda), picturesque lake, fabulous caves, the death railway of WWII and local cottage industries.

Day 01 : Yangon – Bago – Golden Rock
Early morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel for 4hours drive to Kyaikhtiyo (the Golden Rock) which is a huge boulder completely covered by gold leaves and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff over 1100 km above sea-level. On the way, we will stop for Bago sightseeing that includes Shwe-maw-daw Pagoda, Shwe-tha-lyaung reclining Buddha image and Kanbawzathadi Palace. Then proceed to Kyaikhtiyo and we need to take local truck from the Kin Pun base camp for climbing up the mountain where the pagoda exists. Enjoy the beautiful sunset view from the top of the hill. Overnight at Kyaikhtiyo.
Day 02 : Golden Rock – Hpa-an
After breakfast, we will go down with the truck again to the base camp back and drive to continue our trip to Hpa-an. It is a place you should not miss where you will see a lot of historical caves with full of ancient Buddha images and wall sculptures like Kawgun Cave (thousand of tiny clay Buddhas and curving plastered all over the wall) and Saddan Cave (the most impressive one in the area). We will also visit Zwekabin Mountain (recommend for photo stop) which can be said as a sign of Karen ethnic people. If time allow, visit to riverfront at Shwe Yin Hmyaw Pagoda to enjoy the sunset over Thanlwin River. Overnight at Hpa-an.
Day 03: Hpa-an – Mawlamyine
Today morning, we will head to Mawlamyine, the capital of Mon State and 2 hours drive from Hpa-an. On the way, we visit to Kawhnat Village, hidden treasure of region, home to beautiful temples build by local famous entrepreneur and philanthropist at British era. Upon arrival to Mawlamyine, a quiet town, proceed to Thanphyuzayat where the Death Railway built by prisoners of the Japanese during World War II and Allied War Cemetery is located. Then, return to Mawlamyine and take a rest at your hotel. In the evening, if you wish, we may go around the night market for food which is situated along the Strand Road. Overnight at Mawlamyine.
Day 04 : Mawlamyine – Bilu Island – Mawlamyine
After breakfast, we will start the day with a visit to Bilu Island to explore the daily lifestyles of local people and sense the freedom of countryside. We stroll around the villages of the island to study the traditional handmade products such as walking sticks, tobacco smoking pipes, rubber bands, coconut-fiber ropes, ballpoint pens and many other items. After that, we will back to Mawlamyine for sightseeing around the downtown area to well-maintained colonial style buildings and visit Kyaik Than Lan Pagoda where you can overlook the whole city and enjoy the beauty of sunset. Overnight at Mawlamyine.
Day 05 : Mawlamyine – Yangon
After breakfast, we will visit to Mawlamyine’s central market and you will see a lot of seasonal fruits and vegetables and also foreign products mostly from Thailand as the city is located on the trading trail to Thai Border. Then, drive back to Yangon and transfer to your hotel.
